Fire-Rated Wooden Doors: What Contractors Need to Know

Fire-rated wooden doors are one of the most specified items in Saudi housing and commercial projects — and one of the most misunderstood.

What the rating means
A fire-rated door is engineered and tested to resist fire for a defined period. Our 44mm internal fire doors weigh 19.8 kg/m², achieve a U-Value below 1.8, carry a 30dB acoustic rating and are durability-tested to severe duty — suitable for PAS24 applications.

What to check before ordering
1. The required rating per the project's fire strategy.
2. Certified frames and hardware — the door, frame, seals and closer work as one system.
3. Finish options: veneer, laminate or paint — the rating must be maintained with the chosen finish.
4. Smart-lock preparation if the project uses electronic access.

Why contractors choose Ibdaa
